Yu has already rocked the Indian markets with its Yureka, and now it has introduced the Yuphoria, trying to cover each and every area of the smartphone segment. If you are looking for a guide to root your Yuphoria, then this is a one stop shop to do so.

Note: We are not responsible for any damage caused to your device. Proceed on your own risk, And follow tutorial carefully. However, we will try our best to get your device recovered from any disastrous situations.

You need:

1. Yu Yuphoria- Obviously.

2. Battery Charged up to 50%- To prevent accidental shut down of the device.

3. A computer to install recovery temporarily in the phone.

4. Root kit (Custom Recovery and SuperSU) to root the device. (Download)

To root your phone follow these steps:

Prerequisites:

Before we go into the process, let do make some necessary settings on your Yuphoria.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Scroll down and go to About Phone.
3. Scroll down and tap build number 7-10 times until you see a popup stating �You are now a developer�.
4. Press back and now a new section called �Developer Options� will appear in settings. Tap on it and turn on the toggle at the top.
5. Now scroll down and turn on USB Debugging.
6. Now make a backup of all your data as the next step will wipe all the data present in the Internal Memory.
7. Make sure you have 70-80% battery to prevent unexpected failures.

How To Unlock Yu Yuphoria�s Bootloader:

• Extract the adb_fastboot file in a new folder in your C:/ drive.
• Power Off your phone.
• While continuously pressing the Volume Up key, connect your phone to the PC/Laptop via USB cable.
• You will get a black screen stating �Fastboot Mode� at the middle.
• As soon as you plug your phone into the PC, windows will start installing drivers all by itself. Please wait for the installation to complete.
• After the drivers have been installed successfully, go to the folder where you have extracted adb_fastboot file.
• While pressing the Shift key on your keyboard, right click in the folder and select �Open Command Prompt Here�. The command prompt will open up.
• Now type the following command to check if your device has been detected in the fastboot mode.
  fastboot -i 0x2A96 devices
• You�ll get an error if the drivers aren�t installed successfully. However, if you don�t get any error, you may proceed to the next step.
• Now, run the following command to unlock the bootloader.
  fastboot -i 0x2A96 oem unlock
• Now, run the following command to reboot your device to system.
  fastboot -i 0x2A96 reboot

Now, that you have successfully completed the first step, let�s jump onto the next step.

How To Hotboot CWM Recovery:

1. Hotbooting is way of temporarily introducing a custom recovery in your recovery partition. As soon as you reboot your device, the custom recovery will be replaced by the stock cyanogen recovery.
2. Now, since we have to flash supersu zip from a hotbooted recovery, you first need to copy the supersu zip from the rooting kit to the sd card of your phone.
3. Now, copy the yuphoria-cwm-recovery file from the rooting kit to the folder where you extracted adb_fastboot.
4. Using the same old method, go to fastboot mode and open command prompt. Now, type the following command.
   fastboot -i 0x2A96 boot yuphoria-cwm-recovery.img
5. The above command will boot your yuphoria into cwm recovery.

How To Root Yu Yuphoria By Flashing SuperSU:

Now that you are in cwm recovery, to flash SuperSu zip on your device, you need to follow these steps-

• Select �Install zip from sd card� and navigate to the place where you copied the SuperSU file.
• Now, select �Yes�. It will flash the SuperSU zip on your phone.
• You should now have root access on your phone. After rooting, it is recommended to install Busybox.
• Download Busybox installer app from playstore and follow the instructions to install it.

Porting CWM to MTK devices is quite easy. All you need to are

•  A Windows PC, preferably, Windows 7
•  MTK Droid Tools. You can download it here
•  ADB Drivers or PdaNet for PC (pda seems easier to use), you can download  PDANethere

First of all, make sure your phone is rooted a with SuperUser installed. Go to Setting>developers option on your phone and enable USB Debugging

Steps to Port CWM to your MTK Device

1. Install PdAnet on your Pc. During the course of installation, PDAnet will require you to connect your phone, so make sure USB Debugging is activated and select USB mode when you plug your phone. When PDAnet prompts you for phone type, just select others and follow the on-screen instructions. This will enable you phone drivers to be installed to your PC

2. After that, extract the MTK Droid tools to a desktop or anywhere you wish on your PC, open the folder and run MTK Droid Tools. Connect your phone, it will be detected by MTK Droid tools.

3. Once your phone has been detected, click on Root below the screen. Droid tools will attempt to connect to your phone through your Superuser, just click allow on your phone. Wait till the process finish, a yellow dot at the bottom of the screen will change to green. (click yes to all screen prompts)

4. At this stage, you can decide to take a full backup of your stock Rom before you flash CWM or just proceed to flashing CWM directly.

* To backup your ROM, click on the root, backup, recovery tab on the screen. You will see a backup button. Beside it, you will see a backup user data and cache option, tick it. Click on the backup button and wait for the backup to be completed. (click yes to all screen prompts)

*If you don�t want to take a backup, go to step 5.

5. Under root, backup and recovery tab, in the Recovery and boot section, tick �to use boot.img on phone�. Then click on �Recovery and boot�. It will start the flashing process. Click yes to all screen prompts until the process finish. Once it is completed, it will boot your phone into recovery.

Just disconnect, and Voila, you now have CWM on your phone

1 Install SP tools from link given above.

3 Click on the Scatter-Loading button on right side below downloading agent and choose MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt.

4 now you will see many entries. Untick all except recovery.

5 click on recovery and select clockworkmod recovery.img.

6 Now take of the battery from phone.

7 Click on "Download" button on SP tools, ignore warning(s) and hit "yes".

8 Now connect your phone to Computer with USB and it will flash new clockworkmod recovery to your micromax a116 canvas HD.

9 It will start flashing the CWM to your canvas HD. you can view the process by yellow progress bar.

1 Download SU pack and SU bin files (4th and 5th in downloads)

2 Reboot to recovery ( press the Volume Up + Volume Down + Power Button. You will see modes, select recovery mode. If you see clockworkmod in it. Then yippy you have flashed clockworkmod recovery in it.
How to operate it: volume up/down button to move list up down. To select anything, press 1 power button.)

3 Goto "Install zip from sdcard" and choose files"Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip" and "su-bin-3.1.1-arm-signed.zip" in which place you placed those files.

4 When it will be flashed, choose reboot system now option.

5 when you have rebooted your device, you will see "superuser SU" application.

HOW TO ROOT XOLO Q700 AND INSTALL CWM

Guide to root and flash CWM recovery

Requirements:

• The Xolo Q700 phone fully charged
• Download the USB and ADB drivers for the Xolo Q700 from here and here
• Download the Motochopper rooting utility from here
• Download the flash tool for the recovery from here
• Download the recovery image from here

Download the necessary drivers and tools to a folder on your desktop and extract the archives to their respective folders. First, we shall root the phone and later install the CWM recovery patch. Make sure you have administrative rights on your Windows PC before you proceed.

                                                                                           Install the necessary driver(s)

Now, lets start our mission

For this, we will need the USB and ADB drivers installed. Go ahead and install the drivers (usually one driver should work, but in certain cases, you would have to install both the drivers). To be on the safer side, install both to make your work easier. Once the drivers are installed, head over to the phone�s settings and click around 5 to 7 times on the �Build Number� in the �About Phone� in �Settings�. This will enable the �Developer Options� from where you should enable �USB Debugging�. Then head back to the �Settings > Security� and enable �Unknown sources�. Now connect the phone to the PC and let the drivers be installed for the ADB mode. Your phone is now ready for rooting. If you have installed both the drivers on the PC, make sure that the �PdaNet Desktop� utility is not running in the background. You will see the app running in the system tray. Shut it down or your phone will not be rooted. Don�t forget to do this before proceeding.

Now all you need to do is double-click on the folder where you downloaded the files, double-click on the Motochopper folder and then again double-click on the �Run.Bat� file. This file is a DOS mode batch executable file, which will do the needful for you. Proceed with the on-screen instructions and your phone should be rooted in a few seconds. In case you see the procedure halted for more than 5 minutes, you should try repeating the method. If you still get stuck here, go to the �Settings > Security� and enable/disable �Verify Apps�. This should allow the Superuser app needed to be installed on the phone by the rooting script. Now run the batch file again till you see the last line stating �Exploit complete� and �press any key to reboot the phone�. Your phone should reboot automatically and your Xolo Q700 is finally rooted. Install any app that requires root permissions, such as Root Explorer or Titanium Backup, to verify that the rooting is successful.

1. Download and install Mobileuncle Tools from playstore
2. Download CWM Recovery from Here
3. Extract it using simple es file explorer or simple unrar and keep recovery.img in root of sd card
4. Open mobileuncle tools and select Recovery uodate
5. A scrren will appear showing recovery.img then select ok for use this recovery
6. Now CWM recovery will be installed and ask for boot into recovery mode
7. Select yes for it and your phone will boot to CWM Recovery

FLASHING CWM USING SP FLASH TOOL

Rooting and flashing a recovery software on the phone is considered risky and will void any and all warranty on the phone. The procedure can also brick your phone rendering it dead or useless. Do this with extreme care. 

Assuming that you have gathered all the necessary files for this process in a folder on your desktop, proceed with extreme caution. Also make sure that you have two files required for the recovery present on the recovery folder. These files are �recovery.img� and �MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt�. Now head on to the folder �SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1248.0.96� in the folder you downloaded all the files. Here, execute the �Flash_Tool.exe� file and bring on the utility. Now follow the steps given below very, very carefully. Do not connect the phone as yet.

                             Make the necessary settings and give proper file names before flashing

1. In the Smart Phone Flash Tool utility, click on the button named �Scatter-loading� and feed the file named �MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt�. The window below will fill up with some vague values and text. Make sure the �Recovery� line is the only one checked. 

2. Then click on the �Recovery� line and feed the file �Recovery.img� from the folder you downloaded. Usually this is done automatically, but we recommend you confirm this step. 

3. Next, click on �Window� in the menu, click on �Write Memory�. Make sure the check mark is present. This will bring up an additional tab �Write Memory� in the main interface.

4. Click on the �Write Memory� tab. Here, check the box �EMMC� in the �Memory Settings� section.

     Double check the entries you type in before hitting that "Write Memory" button

5. Now click on the �Open Raw Data� button and feed it the �Recovery.img� file again. This file path should be seen in the �Write Parameter� field below. 

6. This step is crucial. In the �Write Parameter� section, you will find two mode fields� �Begin address� and �Container Length�. Enter these two values respectively:

Begin Address:            0x2d80000

Container Length:       0x600000

The above values are �Zeros� and not the alphabet �O�. Double-check the values or copy and paste them from here. Check the screenshot for verification. 

7. Once all these settings are done, hit the �Write Memory� button on the top. The utility will start searching for the phone. 

8. Now turn off the phone, remove the battery and reinsert it after around 30 seconds. Do not switch it on. Just connect the switched-off phone to the USB cable.

The drivers for the EMMC mode will be installed automatically and the utility will start writing the recovery software to the phone. You can see this happening and confirm it with the change in colours and the activity on the bottom of the utility�s window. At times, the phone�s drivers take a while to be installed. Don�t panic if the utility does not continue ahead after the drivers are installed. Give it a while more, then disconnect and reconnect the phone again after the drivers are installed. Voila! The recovery utility is installed and to confirm this, you will see a small square window pop up with a bright green circle in it. It is now safe to disconnect your phone.

1. Download MediaTek MTK6589 Drivers or Mobistel Cynus T1 Drivers from here. Install this required drivers in the PC.

2. Again download the Auto Root Tool from here. Extract the contents of Auto Root file on your computer.

3. Open the extracted content folder and Right click on Run.bat file and Select the option " Run as Administrator" to start the process.

4. Now, connect your mobile to the computer using USB cable and ensure that USB debugging is on.

5. Youll be asked to press any key to continue.

6. So, press any key and wait for some time as it starts rooting your Lava 504Q.

Once it has finished rooting your Lava 504Q, you can restart your device manually.

1. Download the Recovery.img CWM 6.0.3.3 for Lava Iris 504Q from here.

4. Start the app and grant Superuser permissions.

5. You have to click on recovery update menu and Select this recovery.img file that youve transferred earlier.
