The days are gone when you needed to connect your device to your PC using cables to transfer files as much convenient options have now become available. With the connectivity options like WiFi, you can transfer files fro and to your device without using cables at a faster transfer rate. You don�t need to buy any expensive accessory to do that, you just need an app and fortunately, the app�s available at free of cost. So, let�s see how you can share your device�s files over WiFi using the app.

I. Before You Begin:

1. Both your PC and your device must be connected to the same WiFi network.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. AirDroid (Google Play Link)

III. Sharing Your Android Device�s Files over WiFi:

1. Download and install the AirDroid app on your device.

2. Once installed, launch it from your App Drawer.

3. It�ll show a tour for the first time users, just skip it.

4. Now, you�ll see an IP address and a password in the app. Note them down.

5. Open a Web Browser on your PC and type in the IP address you got in previous step.

6. You�ll then be asked to enter the password. Just input the password you got in step-4.

7. Hit the Enter button on your keyboard.

8. And you�re done!

Great! You�ll now be able to copy files from your device to your PC and vice versa. The transfer rate would be as fast as if you were copying files from one drive to another on your PC!

- final solution and the one which worked for me is that my wifi ic was faulty, and replaced it. After that it worked.

How To Make A WiFi Hotspot Without Software

When talking about sharing internet connection with friends or neighbors it comes to sharing it wirelessly using your modems WiFi, but when your modem/router doesnt come with a built in wifi adapter and your computer is equipped with one it becomes hard to share Internet connection without cables. Here Im sharing with you a quick way to setup a WiFi Hotspot and share the internet connection you got in a very easy way, it also works for Windows XP , Windows 7 and Windows 8.

1. Windows XP

1. Open up Control Panel from the start menu and head to Network Connections

2. Double Click the Wireless adapter from the networks list, then go to Wireless Networks tab then click Add

3. Enter the SSID (name) of the network, this will appear when scanning for it, and set the security Key you want then check the last checkbox (Ad-hoc) finally click OK

4. Finally go back to network adapters, double click the Internet connection adapter (Local network) then go to Advanced tab, check the box that says "Allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connection" and select the Wireless adapter from the list then hit OK

2. Windows Vista and 7

1. Enter the Control Panel from the Start menu, then head to Network and Sharing Center

2. Click Setup a new connection or network link

3. Scroll down and click Setup a Wireless ad-hoc

4. Enter the details of your WiFi hotspot : Appearing Name (SSID), Security Type and Password (Key) then click Next

5. Finally activate the internet sharing by click the button "Turn On Internet connection sharing"

Note: If you cant find the option Turn On internet connection sharing then go to the Local Network Adapter > Right Click > Properties > Sharing > Check the box Allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connection

3. Windows 8

To create a WiFi Hotspot in Windows 8 you need to perform some cmd commands in order to activate the hotspot and turn your computer into modem internet sharer. Here are the commands used in step by step:

1. Search for CMD then click Run as Administrator to run the command prompt with administrator privileges

2. Run the following commands one by one:

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=IT Expert key=password

Note: Change IT Expert to the SSID (name) of your wifi and password to the key you want to use.

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

netsh wlan show hostednetwork

3. The last command with "show" parameter will show you if the network was created successfully or not, heres an example of what it outputs:

4. Done! You just created a WiFi hotspot, now search for it using your iPhone, iPad, Android device or another Computer equipped with a Wireless adapter.

Connect to your Wi-Fi network and open your browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Firefox etc.)
Type 192.168.254.254 on your browser�s address bar then hit Enter.

If you�re not sure whose device MAC address is listed, you can do a MAC lookup online to have an idea of what kind of device and manufacturer of the device connected to your network.
