Increase your battery backup without using any battery saver apps in Android

Increase your battery backup without using any battery saver apps in Android

battery love

Googles Android is the largest installed mobile OS in the world. Its devices also sell more than Windows, iOS and Mac OS combined. Its a low-cost and customizable OS which makes it preferable among manufacturers. It is an Open Source platform based on Kernel Linux and is used by many major mobile/tablet manufacturers including Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony and Microsoft Mobile(Nokia) recently. Android phones range from budget phones like Samsung Galaxy Star, Micromax Bolt Series, Motorola E, Nokia X etc to high end smart phones like Galaxy S5, Xperia Z2, HTC M8 and so on.

Android smartphones are equipped with high quality graphical display, 3G/4G connectivity, Wireless Fidelity, a good amount of RAM, Multitasking capability and many other features that requires a lot of battery backup, thus draining the battery soon. This is the main drawback of Android. There are hundreds of battery saver apps available in Google Play Store for reducing the battery usage in your phone. These apps can help you save your battery to a great extent, but still it depends on the usage of the phone.

Here are some important  measures you must follow apart from using battery saver apps. These tips are provided by CheetahMobile, the developers of the popular Clean Master app.

TIPS FOR REDUCING THE BATTERY USAGE IN YOUR ANDROID -

1. Disable automatic time zones/time and the clock manually otherwise your device will  l constantly be requesting location/time data and its almost entirely unnecessary.

2. Reduce the push frequency of email/weather/social media.

3. Disable Wi-Fi/Data while playing offline games which present ads, for many apps they will be unable to push you ads during gameplay without a connection.

4. Try to charge the battery before it falls below 20 per cent, its not good to run them completely dry.

5. Use the official chargers for your devices, an aftermarket charger may not charge at the correct voltage or have other deficiencies.

6. Charging via a power outlet is often times much more effective than charging via USB.

7. When you are done with an app try to actually shut it down instead of pushing it to run in the background.

8. Try to avoid playing graphically intense games while charging.

9. Switch off or use flight mode in places where the network is weak.

How To Maximize Or Boost Android Battery Life

How To Maximize Or Boost Android Battery Life

Instructions:
1.  Use androids built in battery usage screen: Check whats exactly eating up your Android phones battery the most. Go to Settings > About Phone > Battery UseFrom this screen you can understand what to turn off in your phone settings to save battery.
2. Adjust the brightness: Big bright screens are great to look at but they eat up the maximum amount of your androids battery. To adjust the brightness go to Settings > Display > Brightness. Either you can select the auto brightness option if available or adjust it manually.
3. Disable Wi-Fi: We know browsing on wifi is much faster than browsing on mobile data plan. Make sure you turn off the wifi when you arent using it because if the wifi is on your phone will keep on scanning for available networks. Go to Settings > Wireless and network settings> Wifi settings > Turn Off Wifi. (or simply turn off the wifi from thenotification area)
4. Disable Bluetooth: Disable Bluetooth whenever you are not using it. It saves a lot of battery as well as keeps your smartphone save too. Go to Settings > Wireless and network settings>Bluetooth settings> Turn of Bluetooth. (or simply turn off the Bluetooth from the notification area)
5. Disable GPS: Disable GPS and Latitude when you are not using it. GPS is a very powerful service but it drains the battery pretty fast. Use GPS only when you need it. Go to Settings> Location and Security Settings> Remove check from Use GPS Satellites. (or simply turn off the GPS from the notification area)
Note: You can use the Power Widget to easily toggle GPS, Bluetooth, Wifi and ScreenBrightness.
6. Disable automatic sync: Many applications like Gmail, facebook, twitter and other email apps eat up a lot of battery due to automatic sync features. Background data is also required to get the e-mails and updates at regular intervals. The best settings you can make is to keep the background data on and automatic sync feature turned off. Go toSettings> Accounts and Sync> Remove check mark from Auto-sync.
7. Disable or remove the apps that you dont use:  There are many apps which we have installed and we never use them. Make sure you remove such apps because many of those apps keep running at the background. This will help you in freeing up internal phone memory as well as save battery.
8. Disable home screen widgets and live wallpaper:  Home screen widgets always make the apps running at the background. So make sure you keep only those widgets that you generally use. Live wallpaper is sure an eye candy and makes your smartphone home screen look beautiful, but it makes the battery backup half of what you would normally get if you use an image as wallpaper. So dont use live wallpaper and use minimum widgets.
9. Use a good task killer: I would suggest you to use the inbuilt Task Killer app of your android smartphone because it has been designed according to your phone. If you want you can also grab a good task killer from android market and make sure you use it according to the instructions given. If used properly task killers can do wonders for your smartphone.
10. Use battery saving apps: There are many applications that aim to improve your battery performance. The majority of these restrict internet use and can be customized according to your needs. One of the best app for this purpose is Juice Defender available in both paid and free versions in android market.  Juice Defender lets you configure a bunch of parameters to govern your phones power usage. You could set android to automatically switch off data services during the night, for example, or to only enable synchronization when your screen is actually on.
Different versions of android have different levels of battery performance. Generally with each new version of Android battery life has improved. The latest version of Android, Gingerbread 2.3 has good a good battery backup in comparison with the older versions.

How To Increase Your Lumia’s Battery Life

How To Increase Your Lumia’s Battery Life

Change email sync time to 15/30 minutes rather than as items arrive- The impact on battery life is obvious, syncing as soon as email arrives is a power sucker; especially when using multiple emails on your phone. I noticed an almost 3 hour increase in battery life when I switched the 4 synced email accounts to retrieve every 15 minutes rather than as soon as it arrives.
Email sync time can be changed from Email>Settings>Sync Settings>Download New Content

Disable Xbox live IF you dont play any Xbox live games online- If you dont play any games on the Xbox live server (such as Wordament or Alphajax etc.) then its a smart idea to turn off the connection to Xbox live; stopping it from constantly searching for friend and game requests.
To disable Xbox live go to the games tile Settings>Connect With Xbox live>set to off

Set screen brightness to low or Auto-brightness rather than high- Screen brightness is a huge battery eater, especially on the Lumia 920 which can go up to 600 nits, and goes to a high contrast mode in direct sunlight that helps direct visibility.
To change the brightness go to Settings>Brightness>and change the settings
Change your maximum data speed to match what your carrier provides- Depending on your carrier/location (not available in the US/At&t apparently); but if you live in an area with poor 4G coverage or spotty reception its better to shut off your 4G antenna and save some precious juices.
To shut off 4G/3G go to Settings>Cellular/Mobile Network>Highest Connection Speed

Disable NFC/Tap to Send if you dont use it- NFC is a great feature, but unfortunately its not exactly everywhere right now (especially outside the US) so if you dont use NFC much keep it off to so save some battery.
Disable NFC from Settings>Tap + Send

Disable any non-vital applications from running in background- Some apps will run in the background and drain your battery as well as your data plan, to avoid that prevent them from running when closed.
To block background applications go to Settings> Swipe to the applications pane on the right>Disable any non-vital apps (such as Nokia Drive, Baconit, IMDB etc.)
