Root Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-R530C using Odin
Step 1: Download and Install Samsung USB Driver on your computer. If Samsung USB Driver is already installed on your computer then Skip this Step. http://goo.gl/nvrBN4

Step 2: Download and extract the root files on your computer. After extracting you will be able to see the following files:

Step 3: Now, Switch off your Smartphone.

Step 4: After switching-off the phone, you need to boot into Download Mode. To boot into download mode Press and hold Zoom Left and Power button at same time for 5-8 seconds until download mode is active.
Step 5: In the Download mode you will be able to see a Warning Yellow Triangle Sign. In this situation you have to press the Zoom Right key to continue.

Step 6: Now, Open Odin3 (found in the extracted files, that you have downloaded in the Step#2) on your computer. Then connect your Smartphone to the computer.

Step 7: Once you have connected the Smartphone to the computer, Odin will automatically recognize the device and show �Added� message at the lower-left panel.

Step 8: Once your device is detected by Odin, click on the PDA button and select the CF-Auto-Root.tar file (you have downloaded this file in step#2). http://goo.gl/nvrBN4


Step 9: Now, click on the Start button in Odin to begin the Flashing.

Step 10: Flashing usually takes 30-50 seconds to complete the rooting process on your Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-R530C. Once Rooting process is completed you will be able to see a Green Box with Pass written on it in Odin. During this process Smartphone will re-boot automatically.

Step 11: Once you see, the Pass message in Odin, you can disconnect your Device from the computer.
Step 12: Now, to make sure you have successfully rooted your Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-R530C, open Applications Menu on your Smartphone and Find SuperSU App. If this app exist on your Smartphone then it means you have successfully rooted your device. Congratulations.

Optional: You can also verify that your device is successfully rooted or not by Root Checker Application.

The Samsung SCH-R970 model is the Galaxy S4 for U.S. Cellular mobile carrier in USA, It has the same features like other US Galaxy S4 variants, And in this guide we are going to show you how you can use simple and free tools to update the Android version of your R970 GS4 smartphone, The update process will be done manually which is very useful when you can not update your device over the air (OTA update) for any reason.
The first step you should start with is making a backup of your phones data, Read the guide ( How To Take A Backup Of Your Samsung Mobile Phones Data Using Samsung Kies) to make the backup by yourself.
You will need some free programs and files for the update and you can get them all below:

- Stock Firmware Package for Samsung SCH-R970 Galaxy S4.
- USB Drivers for your R970 GS4 model.
- Odin Flasher.
After downloading the above files extract any zipped one, Then install the USB drivers on the computer that will be used for performing the update and restart it after that.

Samsung R970 GS4 Firmware Update Instructions:
- Turn your phone off.
- Take out its SIM-card and memory card if there are any.
- From Odin flasher folder run Odin.exe program.
- Check the following options: Auto Reboot, F.Reset Time
- Click on PDA button to select the following file from extracted firmware folder:
R970VXUAMDL_R970USCAMDL_R970VXUAMDL_HOME.tar.md5

- Because we use one file update package then no need for any PIT file, And no need to check Re.Partition option too.
- Put your Samsung R970 GS4 into Download Mode:
Press and hold Volume Down key + Home key, Then press Power key, When you see the warning message on screen release all keys and press Volume Up key to be into Download Mode.
- Plug the USB cable into your phone and computer too.
Press and hold Volume Down key + Home key, Then press Power key, When you see the warning message on screen release all keys and press Volume Up key to be into Download Mode.
- Plug the USB cable into your phone and computer too.
- Wait until Windows detects the phone and installs the needed drivers for it.
- Look at Odin program to check if your phones COM port number is detected 0:[COMxx].
- Now you are ready for the update, Just click on Start button.
- Odin will install the new firmware files into your Samsung R970 GS4.
- When the job is done your device will be rebooted.
- At this point it is save to unplug the USB cable from your phone.
- Wait for the phone to be fully on.
- Do full reset to your device by entering this code *2767*3855#
- The phone will reboots one more time.
- Now when your Samsung R970 GS4 is on again you can customize it as you like, And start using it with its new installed firmware version.
