[Introduction]
As discussed in my previous articles, I got a new phone. However for a tech freak like me, owning an android phone without rooting is an absolute shame. So to gain complete access to my phone, I decided to root it(and thus void my phones warranty). But I aint that stupid. I had to make sure that in case something went wrong, I would be able to fix my phone. So for back up I downloaded the stock ROM of Micromax A177 and the necessary drivers and flashing tools. Now I was all ready to proceed. One thing that is to be noticed is that although rooting voids the warranty of your phone, a simple unroot will restore the warranty back(oh yeah!). So there wasnt any risk I was taking.

Lets get started. The rooting process will be done with the help of a simple app called Framaroot. So you might as well as download it by clicking here. Before progressing, read this customary disclaimer:

I am not responsible for any mistake you make and therefore end up bricking your mobile(though be assured that the steps shown in this tutorial are correct and accurate. So if you follow all the steps properly, your phone will not get bricked.)

The disclaimer being read, you may carry on. Make sure that your phone has at least 80% battery.
- Copy the downloaded Framaroot app to your phone external or internal memory(hardly matters).
- Install it(make sure you have app installation from unknown sources enabled).
- Launch it.
- Select "Install Super Su".
- Click on "Boromir"
- Now reboot your phone. All done !!
After reboot, you will find an app called Super SU in your app drawer. This app is used to grant or deny super user access to apps. Now that you have rooted your phone, there are several things you can try out like swapping internal and external sd, increase RAM of phone, increase internal storage and a lot more !
