How To Opt Out From Airtel Subscriptions And Unsolicited Messages That are Deducting Your Credit Yourself

How To Opt Out From Airtel Subscriptions And Unsolicited Messages That are Deducting Your Credit Yourself

Airtel has finally introduced a method in which you can also opt out from any Value Added Services (VAS) subscriptions or unsolicited messages that you felt are deducting your credits without permission.

This is coming in the heel of the similar move recently taken by MTN that now gives subscribers the ability to know and deactivate any active VAS themselves.

By this move, airtel has also placed the power in the hands of their subscribers to know the VAS they want to subscribe to and the one to opt out from.

Like that of MTN, this can also be achieved by dialling the provided code that will allow you activate a VAS subscription or to deactivate any existing one.

To activate or deactivate any Airtel VAS or SMS;

    Dial *902# with your airtel line to choose from two options that will either allow you activate or deactivate VAS or SMS

     Select 1 to activate (Start) a VAS plan or 2 to see and deactivate (stop) any existing one

This in all ramifications will be seen as a welcome development as subscribers now have the freedom of choice on which VAS or SMS service to opt into.

MTN and Airtel have led the way and we expect Etisalat and Glo to follow suite.

Finally, with this latest development, no more Airtel are stealing my credit/airtime secretly, and the law will term you ignorant if after reading and seeing the easy way to halt the unsolicited services but you still allow them to deduct your airtime.

And you know what the law says about ignorance to the law; that it is never an excuse!
